Superstar Turn?

Jerry D'Amigo is RPI's first bonafide national superstar since... Cavosie? Murley? Tapper? JUNEAU? Yeah.

But now, this weekend, maybe it's time for the Engineers (men and women) to step into the national spotlight.

The men take on first-place and #12 Quinnipiac tonight, and they look to be getting them at the right time. No Jerry D'Amigo, as he's taking some much deserved down time after that amazing World Junior Championship performance that he put in - but a Jerry-less Engineers team already beat Michigan in Detroit. Can they now beat a reeling Quinnipiac team in Hamden?

Then, they move on to face Princeton in a game being broadcast worldwide on ESPNU. With the cameras rolling, the Engineers need to show their stuff in what should be (fingers crossed) the first game since the AIC game with everyone back from injuries, suspensions, and hero turns.

The women, meanwhile, host the difficult North Country duo at the Field House - St. Lawrence tonight, always a difficult proposition and important given the fact that the teams are currently tied on the ECAC table, and the #3 Clarkson Golden Knights tomorrow afternoon, which will be a huge challenge for the Engineers.

If either team wants its turn in the sun, this weekend is big.
